Favor and Disgrace

For the next several weeks we will be studying the life of King Saul, Israel’s first King. Saul often exemplifies what not to do in life. He was granted God’s favor, but his story ends in disgrace. This week we will be looking at the rise of King Saul. In so doing, we recognize the important lesson of being careful for what it is we really desire in life. Sometimes God gives us exactly what we want… and that is not always good.
